Brendan Monroe maaaaay be the coolest artist I've seen all month. Check out his use of LINE in his work. I think he proves that sometimes clean, simplicity works.

http://caseyweldon.com/blog/

We took a moment today to look at Casey Weldon's work. Quoting his about me section, "By using to the iconography of today and yesterday's popular culture, his work aims to awaken a feelings of nostalgia within the viewer, though often along with a sense humor, melancholy, and longing for times lost." I think you guys will really love his work.

What does it mean to "awaken a feeling of nostalgia"?
Are there any paintings that make you feel nostalgic?
How is Casey's work melancholy? Can you see any examples of that?
